Building Supply
MY ACCOUNT

OUR HISTORY

Contractor Express has been providing contractors with supplies, lumber and hardware in Long Island and the five boroughs since 1981. Bob Lucas, the son of a builder, started the business already knowing the specific needs of the professional contractor, after years of working alongside his Dad. He and his brothers built the business from the ground up, dedicating their careers to improving the experience the builder has when doing business with Contractor Express. In the 1980’s the Lucas Family saw the demand for quality Long Island contractor supplies and became the first building supply company to stock #1 pressure treated lumber. This strategic decision set the bar for the standard of service that Contractor Express is known for. To this day, they continue to only stock the best material available and are dedicated to being the best Long Island contractor supplier.

OUR MANAGEMENT

Bob Lucas
President

Right out of college at 22 years old I went into the lumber business with my Father and 5 Brothers. I started out in the yard and behind the sales counter. Over the 40 years of running Contractor Express I have consistently made the effort to “keep up with the times”. I have made sure that Contractor Express is the best in the business.

I have an incredible wife and two beautiful daughters that keep me motivated and focused. My “three girls,” are my world. I have been an avid boater my entire life and enjoy all activities that relate to the water. My newest hobby is spear fishing and free diving.

Greg Failla
Vice President

I first started working with Contractor Express back when I was 14 years old working in the yard and stocking shelves.  Way back then we were called Lucas Stone and supplied mason supplies as well as building materials.  I continued to work here part time performing additional positions including sales until I graduated college.  Once I graduated college I pursued other opportunities but found myself back at Contractor Express full time in 2001.  I love working at Contractor Express because everyday is a new challenge.  I am able to get involved with many different areas of the company which keeps my job very interesting.  More than anything else I enjoy working with our staff, customers and vendors while building great relationships.

I am married and have two wonderful sons.  I enjoy playing sports as well as watching and attending sporting events.  My favorite major sports teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Islanders, New York Yankees and Boston Celtics.  I also love the beach, traveling and going to concerts.

Maureen Rogan
Controller

I started out my career working as a CPA at a large accounting firm. After 14 years, I ventured out on my own and worked with many small businesses. In 2007 I met the Lucas family and found my home at Contractor Express.  What impressed me most when I started working here was the strong relationships and mutual respect between, management, employees, and customers. Being involved with not just the accounting and budgeting but the many different aspects and challenges of running a small business keeps me motivated.  This industry is challenging and everchanging and I enjoy working with other staff and customers to face these challenges every day.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling and the excitement of seeing new places. I also love just spending time at home with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do in my down time is escape from everyday life with a good book.

Bob Patton
Director of Customer Relations

I started working at Contractor Express in the outside yard and worked my way up the ladder to Sales Manager. I have 27 years of service under my belt and love the fact that our company has great lasting relationships with our customer base.

Michael Gennari
Sales Manager

I began my career in building products approximately 21 years ago at a retail lumber yard located on Long Island. After gaining market and product experience I moved on to territory management in distribution and then on to manufacturing.  I worked for many years in these roles helping establish and develop the NY market.  My rounded experience in the building products field has brought me to Contractor Express.  I am constantly learning in this ever-changing industry and enjoy working with a team that makes work fun.

I am married with a wonderful son and stepson.  I enjoy everything from hiking with my family at some of Long Islands beautiful parks, a relaxing day at the beach, a fun family game night or a leisurely bike ride on a summer day.

Alex Alvarado
Dispatch Manager

I began my career at Contractor Express in 2016 as a truck driver. At the beginning of 2019  I had the opportunity within the company to start working in the yard, I enjoyed working in all aspects of operations and logistics. Working in the yard allowed me to use my organizational and planning skills and has taught me all aspects of Contractor Express operations. Most importantly I learned more about the company and how important it is to be a part of a strong team.

Most recently I received a promotion to work as the dispatch manager for all truck drivers and oversee the delivery process from start to finish. It became my mission to have strong communication skills with my team to help facilitate their work and makes everyone’s day successful. My goal is to ensure our customers receive their orders timely and correctly by working closely with our staff to ensure we are efficient, organized, and prepare the customer orders swiftly and accurately.

I have a beautiful daughter, mother and a loving girlfriend. I love traveling, going to concerts, comedies clubs, road trips, and enjoy home improvements.

Lois Widder
Administrative Assistant

I enjoy working with the Contractor Express Staff and our cliental.  Coming to work is a joy not an effort. Having owned my own retail business I better understand the need for “open dialog” between management and customers.  This is especially  true in the area of Accounts Receivable.  Open communication is a “Win Win” situation for all.
